Shortly after 8:45 a.m. on Thursday morning, Virginia State Police attempted to stop a vehicle heading north on I-95 in Fairfax County, when the driver sped away, prompting a pursuit.

The driver was reportedly the subject of an Amber Alert that was issued out of Virginia Beach late on Wednesday night.

Prince George's County fire officials say that three children and one adult were all injured in the rollover crash in Rockville at the Capital Beltway Outer Loop, with one being airlifted to an area hospital.

The crash and investigation shut down the roadway and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
